DSI collaborates with the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) to sign an MOU to expand cooperation between agencies, develop academic work and technological innovations, and enhance standards in investigating and probing special cases

              On Thursday, August 24, 2023, the Department of Special Investigation, in collaboration with the National Science and Technology Development Agency, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on academic and technological innovation research and development. This MOU aims to extend the duration of cooperation between the agencies for another 5 years (until October 19, 2028) to enhance capabilities and improve the efficiency of special case investigations. The signatories for the Department of Special Investigation were Police Captain Piya Raksakul, Deputy Director of the Department of Special Investigation, and Mr. Phiphat Penpak, Director of the Bureau of Technology and Information Inspection Center. From NSTDA, Dr. Sombun Sahasitivat, Deputy Director of the National Science and Technology Development Agency in charge of Research and Development Management, and Dr. Adisorn Tuantranont, Director of the Technology Center for National Security and Commercial Applications, NSTDA, co-signed the agreement at the reception room on the 2nd floor of the Department of Special Investigation, Rajaburi Direkriddhi Building (Building A), the Government Complex, Chaeng Watthana Road.

 

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been entered into (by both parties) with the objectives to:

1.  Research and develop technological innovations to enhance the capabilities and competence in special case investigations and security-related affairs

2.  Promote and support the efficient and maximum utilization of existing resources in the research and development of technological innovations for special case investigations

3.  Strengthen and exchange personnel, knowledge, experience, and academic information in the research and development of technological innovations for special case investigations and security-related affairs

4.  Extend the application of research and development outcomes into practical use, including expanding the network of cooperation to various related agencies

 

              Finally, the Department of Special Investigation and NSTDA recognize and place importance on enhancing and developing technological innovations. Both agencies will collaborate in researching and developing technological innovations to maximize the operational potential for the country's benefit. This collaboration aims to build public confidence as part of the effort to drive and elevate the standards of special case investigations to an international standard.
