DSI clarify case of its officer seeking for justice

This statement is made in response to the message published via various social media saying that an officer of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) presented petition to His Majesty for justice, which accused the DSI of dishonest internal management, particularly in relation to performing duty in the seizure of property relating to drug trafficking crime and was controlled by political influence .

The DSI would like to clarify to the public that the DSI performs its duty according to the law and related regulations, especially in legal proceedings which it proceeds in the form of group/team of investigators or special case inquiry officials, as the cases may be, it is not solely proceeded by any special case inquiry official. For public administration and duty performance of the DSI, it could incur misunderstanding between its officials and executives which could happen in government agencies. The DSI have been communicating to build an understanding with officials continuously, and there is no performance problem overall.

Nonetheless, in the case of petitioner seeking justice as it appeared in the news, the DSI would like to add a clarification that the DSI is not taking no action and is inspecting aforesaid matter. Even though presenting petition to His Majesty for justice is possible, in the case of civil servant officer, there is the Civil Service Act, B.E. 2551 (2008) which prescribed the procedures for ensuring justice accordingly, and if the aforesaid action is not in accordance with objectives, then he or she can exercise the rights to proceed it in the administrative court which is guaranteed by the Constitution of Thailand. The DSI will explain to build a understanding with the petitioner further on.

       Please be informed accordingly
