On Monday 6 February 2023 at 13.15 hours, the House Committee on Laws, Justice and Human Rights paid a study visit to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) Headquarters. The committee members were greeted by Deputy Permanent Secretary for Justice Ms Aranya Tongnumtago and DSI Deputy Director-General Police Captain Wisanu Chimtrakool.
On this occasion, committee members were briefed on DSI investigation efforts, including special investigation tools, special case investigation in southern border provinces and DNA sample collection in cooperation with the Central Institute of Forensic Science. The purpose of the House Committee’s visit to DSI was to learn and share information and recommendations on national policies and directions regarding the reform of criminal justice system and human rights protection as well as DSI’ roles in special case investigation.
