DSI received plaques and awards from True Visions, Premier League and MPA as an agency with excellent results in combatting online copyright infringement

       On September 9, 2021, at the DSI, Pol.Lt.Col. Korrawat Panprapakorn (the Director-General) accompanied by Pol.Lt.Col. Wichai Suwanprasert (the Director of Technology and Cyber Crime Bureau) received plaques and certificates of recognition as an agency with excellent results in conquering online copyright infringement from the representatives of True Visions Group Company Limited, Football Association Premier League Limited (the owner of live broadcast rights for English Premier League football matches), and Motion Picture Association (MPA).

       Throughout the past, the DSI has continued to fight against movie copyright infringement and illegal live streaming websites, such as movie2free.com, doo4k.com, fwiptv.info, sakkarinsai8.com, streamingcheap.com etc, which cause more than 3,000 million baht in damage. Mr. Kevin Plumb, the Premier League’s general counsel, said “We would like to thank the DSI for its continued efforts in combatting crimes related to copyright infringement. The DSI is one of the leading anti-copyright infringement agencies that we have worked with and its actions show the consequences faced by those involved themselves in illegally streaming Premier League matches. The Premier League commits itself to work with the DSI and True Vision Group in the fight against copyright infringement in Thailand and will make football fans aware of the dangers of viewing our content through unauthorized channels”.

       The DSI would like to inform the public that fighting against copyright and intellectual property infringement is another key mission of the DSI in accordance with the Director-General’s policy to expedite the continual and strong crackdowns on infringement, especially the online copyright infringement of movies and television programs due to its severe impacts on the overall economy of Thailand and its international trade.
