DSI attends the 5^th Household Debt Settlement Mediation at International Convention and Exhibition Centre Commemorating His Majesty’s 7^th Cycle Birthday Anniversary in Chiang Mai Province

       On April 28, 2022, at 10.00 a.m., Mr. Triyarith Temahivong (the Director-General of the DSI) assigned his Deputy Director-General Pol. Maj. Yuthana Praedam, Mr. Mahesak Punsanga (Director of Bureau of Regional Operation), Plt.Off. Kittikom Kongsompoch (Acting Head of Special Case Operation Center Region 5) and officers of the Debtors and Unfairly-Treated People Help Center of the DSI to attend the 5^th Household Debt Settlement Mediation, held at the International Convention and Exhibition Centre Commemorating His Majesty the King's 7^th Cycle Birthday Anniversary, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. The event opened and chaired by Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin (the Minister of Justice) was aimed at responding to the government policy given by the Prime Minister, General Prayut Chan-o-cha prioritizing the solutions to people’s debt and trouble problems. The Prime Minister then set the year 2022 as “the Year of Household Debt Settlement” aiming at solving all types of debt problems, such as student loans, loans for purchase of vehicles and motorcycles, credit card debts and personal loans, etc., by employing mediation processes for opening opportunities for creditors and debtors to negotiate debt settlements, restructure debts, and end their disputes quickly, conveniently and free of charges, for building opportunities for people to be able to access to the justice system in every dimension, and for participating in doing a service to the public by agencies under the Ministry of Justice where people can contact via Hotline 1202.
