DSI opened opportunities for victims in the Forex-3D case to give statements to special case inquiry officials from today to February 11, 2021

 

 

       On January 15, 2021, the DSI by its Bureau of Illegal Financial Business Crime and the special case inquiry official team responsible for the special case no.153/2019 arrested Mr.Apirak Kotethi, a wanted suspects under the Criminal Court’s arrest warrant, the case of using the website “www.forex-3D.com” as a channel to advertise for luring the general public to invest in foreign exchange (forex) by offering the return at the rate of 60-80% of profits from trading forex, regarded as the offence of jointly lending loan amounting to public cheating under the Emergency Decree on Loan of Money Amounting to Public Cheating and Fraud, B.E. 2527 (1984), causing massive amount of damage.

       From the aforesaid arrest, it was found that there are many injured persons/victims who have not met with the special case inquiry officials, but informed the DSI of their intention to give their statements to the special case inquiry officials. The DSI, thus, announced the way to meet and give statements to special case inquiry officials as follows.

1. The injured persons comprises the people registered their names but never met and gave their statements to the special case inquiry officials and the people not registered to give statements. It is required to register for making an appointment to see the special case inquiry officials during February 1-11, 2021, at 08.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. (Monday-Friday) at the 2nd floor hall of the Government Complex Building B, Chaeng Wattana Road, Bangkok.

2. The injured persons must register to make an appointment specifying the date and time to meet with the special case inquiry officials by entering information in the website “www.dsi.go.th” via QR code published on January 22, 2021.

3. The injured persons shall meet with the special case inquiry officials on the registered date and time (in Clause 2.) and shall bring the following related documents.

3.1 Identity document (ID Card).

3.2 Document detailing investment with information filled in (download file).

3.3 Copies of bank receipt showing the transfer/receipt of money.

3.4 Copies of photos of investment portfolio/account profile/deposit-withdraw statement.

3.5 Copies of document related to the invitation to invest via website/Facebook/ application (If any).

3.6 Copies of bank statement or bank passbook (bank book).

4. The injured persons must go through screening processes in accordance with the measure to prevent the new wave of COVID-19 infections before meeting with the special case inquiry officials.

       For obtaining accurate information, the injured persons should monitor the updates of the case via “www.dsi.go.th” only.

       On February 1, 2021, there were 106 injured persons who met and gave their statements to the special case inquiry officials.

       As this is the final extension of accepting statements of injured persons in this case, it is required to register and meet with the special case inquiry officials on the specified date and time as registered.
