UNODC provided equipment support to drive forward DSI’s missions

 

 

       On Tuesday 11 July, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., Police Major Suriya Singhakamol, Director General of Department of Special Investigation (DSI), along with Police Captain Piya Raksakul, Deputy Director General of DSI, Police Captain Wisanu Chimtrakool, Deputy Director General of DSI, Police Captain Thinavudth Silapat, Director of Bureau of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime, Police Major Tharuetawan Vanaphat, Director of DSI Academy, and officers joined the ceremony to receive durable articles from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to DSI. This ceremony also included the signing of deed of transfer with Mr. Felipe De La Torre, Programme Officer (Border Management) of UNODC and the establishment of the Training Center for the Prevention and Investigation of Transnational Organized Crime at the DSI’s computer room, 2nd floor, DSI Academy.

       DSI and UNODC are important partners, which have provided equipment support for the implementation of DSI’s missions and organize training programs for the development of knowledge and skills for the DSI’s officers. Both agencies aim to jointly develop cooperation in various fields (Capacity Building) for the purpose of effectively countering emerging transnational organized crimes which are threats to Thailand and ASEAN.
