DSI visits Chiang Rai, brings justice closer to people




          On Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 9:00 AM onwards, Police Major Yutthana Praedam, Director General of the Department of Special Investigation, and Mr. Angsuket Visuthvatanasak, Director of the Justice Enhancement Affairs Bureau, visited Chiang Rai Province. They were accompanied by Rights and Liberties Protection Department, Department of Juvenile Observation and Protection, the Chiang Rai Provincial Justice Office, Mae Suai District Office in Chiang Rai province, and Civil Society Network Partner Organizations, including representatives of United Nations (UN) Liaison Office in Thailand , the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Thailand, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Thailand, and the Legal Status Network Foundation. The campaign was organized under the policy of Police Colonel Tawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, aiming to bring justice closer to people and address issues related to legal status. The Minister of Justice presided over the ceremony, where identification cards were granted to 165 students with ID numbers beginning with the letter "G" (generated numbers for unregistered children).

          Moreover, all the students will be registered under the Health Insurance Fund for Individuals with Legal Status and Rights Issues, enabling them to receive medical treatment benefits in accordance with the government's policy.
