Captain Piya Raksakul (Deputy Director-General of Department of Special Investigation (DSI)) assigned Police Captain Thinavudth
Silapat (Director of Bureau of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime), as DSI representative, to welcome and discuss official matters
with a team of officials from the Home
Office International Operations (HOIO), led by Mr. Bryan McNeil,
Relational Manager of Asia Pacific, and Mr. Charles Han, International
Liaison Manager, British Embassy in Thailand, at reception room, 2nd
floor of the Rajaburi Direkriddhi Building, the Government
Complex. The HOIO or the Home
Office of the United Kingdom has responsibility for preventing threats from transnational
crime and conducted investigation into relevant transnational crime as well as
coordinating with international law enforcement agencies in preventing and dealing
with criminal offences, especially illegal immigration, passport forgery, terrorism, narcotics smuggling, etc.
Both
agencies agreed to enhance close cooperation in the areas of investigation and
exchange of information that is beneficial to the investigation, in accordance
with the duties and responsibilities of the two agencies. Additionally, the HOIO
is willing to support training for developing specialized knowledge and skills
for DSI personnel to cope with new and increasingly complex forms of
transnational crime. The DSI Academy is ready to support the implementation of
international training programs.
Mr.
McNeill thanked the DSI for the warm welcome. The HOIO is also delighted to
invite DSI executives to visit the HOIO Bangkok office at the next opportunity.
