DSI held CSR Project “Plant, Place, Preserve” Mangrove Forest

       On Wednesday 10 May 2023, at Mahachai East Coast Natural Resources and Environment Conservation and Rehabilitation Learning and Practice Center, Khok Kham Subdistrict, Mueang Samut Sakhon District, Samut Sakhon Province, DSI Deputy Director General Police Lieutenant Colonel Phayao Thongsen presided over and participated in DSI project “Plant, Place, Preserve” the Mangrove Forest, as assigned by DSI Director General, (on the occasion of National Tree Day 2023), which is in accordance with the Cabinet resolution dated 31 January 1989, prescribing that Vesakha Bucha Day of every year shall be National Tree Day). Secretary of the Department Police Captain Thad Loutavee delivered a reporting statement that the project is DSI’s public-benefit activity for society and the environment, which leads to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and forms a key part of volunteer activities of the DSI in 2023. The project was held by Public Relations Division, Office of the Secretary for the purpose of encouraging DSI government officials and officers to take part in social and environmental benefit activities according to good governance principle for sustainability and to recognize and treasure forest resources. There were 73 DSI officials and officers participating in the project and jointly planting 500 Mangroves as an activity to prevent coastal erosion, increase marine ecosystem for aquatic animals and to be the source of food and income for inhabitants and fishermen. In addition, the participants learned the benefits of mangrove forest planting from the lecturer Mr. Narin Boonruam, an officer of the Center.
