DSI Strengthens International Cooperation through Workshop between DSI Officers and Police Liaisons Officers from Embassies in Thailand
On March 21, 2025, the Bureau of Foreign Affairs
and Transnational Crime hosted a workshop for law enforcement officers from the
Department of Special Investigation (DSI) and police liaison officers from
embassies in Thailand at the Mida Hotel Don Mueang Airport, Chaeng Watthana
Road. The objective was to enhance integrated operational efficiency and cooperation
to improve investigation, prevention, and suppression of transnational crimes,
and to strengthen foreign cooperation of the DSI.
The workshop was attended by 90 participants,
including law enforcement officers from foreign agencies based in Thailand,
embassy officials, officers from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime
(UNODC), and DSI officers. Police Captain Wisanu Chimtrakool, Deputy
Director-General of the DSI, delivered a keynote speech on driving the DSI’s
strategic direction, emphasizing integration and strengthening cooperation networks
for preventing and suppressing transnational crimes that are classified as
special cases. Additionally, breakout sessions were conducted to provide a
platform for participants to discuss and explore ways to coordinate operations
in foreign affairs and transnational crime, as well as to develop guidelines for
foreign affairs efforts. These sessions aimed to enhance coordination
mechanisms, to foster good relationships and build networks with international
law enforcement agencies based in Thailand. The initiative seeks to ensure a
more unified, timely, and efficient response to transnational crimes.
