DSI Representatives attended International Women’s Day Event
at Australian Embassy and shared views on use of technology against child sexual abuse

       On March 8, 2023, Acting DSI Director-General Police Major Suriya Singhakamol assigned Head of the Center for Countering Child Sexual Abuse Police Captain Khemachart Prakyhongmanee and Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau Miss Arunsri Wichawut to attend International Women’s Day Event hosted by the Australian Embassy and assigned Police Captain Khemachart Prakyhongmanee to represent DSI in a panel discussion on the subject of “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”, on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2023. This panel discussion was held at the Australian Embassy and also attended by representatives from Australian Federal Police, Office of the Attorney General, Royal Thai Police and Mahidol University.

       The DSI representative presented on the subjects of DSI and the use of technology (social media) to prevent and suppress the cases relating to sexual abuse, the use of innovation to protect women’s and children’s rights, for the purpose of preventing online sexual abuse and exploitation in which women and children were the victims, the human resources management with equality for gender diversity (LGBTQ+) in the Department of Special Investigation, regarding the opportunity for career growth, the recruitment based on personnel administration standards which emphasize gender equality and are in line with the policy of DSI Director-General. The DSI representative also noted at the end of the discussion the duties and missions of the DSI Station and that the network is driven by its members, 90 percent of whom are women.
