Deputy Director-General attended press conference on arrests of a foreign surrogacy gang
On February 5, 2021, at 1.00 p.m., Pol.Col.Akarapol Punyopashtambha (a Deputy Director-General and the spokesperson of the DSI) joined the press conference with the Deputy Minister of Public Health to announce the success of integration of forces to dismantle and arrest a foreign surrogacy gang acting as brokers to recruit Thai women to be surrogate mothers via social media attended by representatives from the Royal Thai Police, the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations.
