On May 15, 2018 at the DSI, the Deputy Director-General Pol.Col. Songsak Raksaksakul and Pol.Lt.Col. Paisith Sungkahapong (Director of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau) welcomed the representatives from the Netherlands' National Police Corps (Korps Nationale Politie) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP). They discussed the possibility of setting up a Special Investigation Unit (SIU) to fight against child sexual exploitation in Thailand, and jointly agreed with it in principle. The representatives of the DSI, Korps Nationale Politie, and AFP will further consider the other law enforcement agencies that will join the SIU's operations in detail for planning and integrating work and resources. The setting up of SIU will suppress sex crime against children by foreigners in Thailand and countries in Southeast Asia.
