On April 26, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at the DSI, Superintendent Wayne Moran (the Australian Border Force’s Counsellor Mekong stationed in Thailand in April 2019 responsible for coordination between the Australian Border Force (ABF) and law enforcement agencies in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand) paid a courtesy call on and discussed cooperation in exchanging information and intelligence with Pol.Col.Paisit Wongmuang (the Director-General), Pol.Lt.Col.Prakorn Sucheevakun (Deputy Director-General) and Pol.Col.Akarapol Punyopashtambha (the Director of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau).
The DSI has cooperated with the ABF for intelligence exchange, and human resource development since the past. The Memorandum of Understanding on the Disclosure and Use of Information between the ABF and the DSI was signed in Canberra, Australia on November 27, 2017. The DSI awarded its certificate of recognition for foreign law enforcement agencies participating in the DSI’s special crime control for the fiscal year 2018, known as the Award for the Prototype of Networks, to the ABF.
