DSI exchanged information on International Human Trafficking Situations
with counterparts in Japan

          On July 22-27, 2019 a delegation of the Bureau of Human Trafficking Crime visited the counterparts in Japan to discuss law enforcement cooperation and prosecutions of international human trafficking networks aimed at strengthening efficiency in prevention and suppression of the crimes. The delegation met the Thai Ambassador at the Thai Embassy in Tokyo and the abbot of Pak Nam Temple in Chiba Prefecture to collect information about Thai women and workers who sought for help from the embassy and the temple for use as the DSI’s database of investigations. The delegation partook in the 16th Contact Point Meeting on Trafficking in Persons, attended by the anti-human trafficking polices of Japan and non-government organizations at the Conference Centre in Shinagawa. The delegation also met and discussed the matters with the Immigration Bureau of Japan, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and the National Police Agency of Japan.
