DSI increased cooperation in transnational crime control with its foreign law enforcement partners

 

 

On August 28, 2018, at the Dusit Thani Hua Hin Hotel in Phetchaburi Province, Pol.Col. Songsak Raksaksakul (the Deputy Director-General of the DSI) presided over a seminar held by the Bureau of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime of the DSI to strengthen cooperation in transnational crime control between the DSI and foreign law enforcement agencies situated in Thailand.

 

 

The seminar as a forum for ideas and experience exchanges was attended by the representatives of Embassies of ASEAN member countries in Thailand and foreign law enforcement agencies situated in Thailand. The latter as the members of the Foreign Anti-Narcotics and Crime Community (FANC) in Thailand having collaborated with the DSI on investigations into transnational crime syndicates, exchanges of intelligence, and training included the law enforcement officers from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP),  the Australian Border Force (ABF), the Australian Federal Police (AFP), the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the UK Immigration Enforcement International (IEI), the UK National Crime Agency (NCA),  the International Law Enforcement Academy-ILEA), the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany (BKA), the National Police  Agency of the Netherlands, the International Police Cooperation of Switzerland,  the Direzione Centrale Polizia Criminale (DCPC) of Italy, the Nordic Liaison Office  for Police and Customs Cooperation, and the National Police of the Republic of Korea.

 

 

This seminar complied with the government's policy to strengthen cooperation in controlling all aspects of transnational crime that caused impact on human security. Such cooperation for crime prevention and social equity creation covers foreign affairs work and justice system support and enhancement. The seminar helps the DSI to maintain its good relationships with the FANC and strengthen its fruitful cooperation with ASEAN Embassies. The outcomes will be used for developing its existing cooperation with the aforesaid agencies for the great success of transnational crime control in Thailand and the region in the future.
