On May 31, 2018, Pol.Col.Songsak Raksaksakul (the DSI's Deputy Director-General) presided over the 18th Bi-lateral Meeting on Counter-Cross Border Human Trafficking between the DSI and the Myanmar Police Force (MFP) led by Pol.Brig.Gen MYINT HTOO (the Head of ATIPD) at the Wiang Inn Hotel in Chiang Rai Province during May 30-June 1, 2018. The AAPTIP by Mr.Bruce Kelly and his team also observed the meeting hosted by the DSI.
The aim of the meeting was to enhance the capacity for investigation, prevention, and suppression of crime of the agencies responsible for the fight against human trafficking, and to provide opportunities for the officials at operational level of both agencies to meet and build good relationships including to exchange information.
