On September 17, 2018, the Director-General of the DSI assigned Pol.Col. Songsak Raksaksakul (Deputy Director-General) and Pol.Lt.Col. Paisith Sungkahapong (Director of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau) to welcome a delegation of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) led by Mr. Scott Lee (Assistant Commissioner). On this occasion the AFP delegation expressed its gratitude to the DSI for the past cooperation and discussed the future collaboration of the two agencies.
The DSI and the AFP have worked closely in many aspects, including crime investigations, information exchange, and academic cooperation and training. The AFP is the DSI's important counterpart. Both organizations prioritize the fight against serious transnational crimes affecting the public security and peace such as child sexual exploitation, terrorism and criminal organizations.
