On Wednesday, March 19, 2019, 10:00 a.m., at the DSI, Mr.Mark Bishop (the Head of Asia/Pacific Region, the National Crime Agency (NCA) of the United Kingdom), Mr.Nicholas Cuckson (a liaison officer) and their assistant paid a courtesy call on the Director-General Pol.Col.Paisit Wongmuang attended by his Deputy Director-General Pol.Lt.Col.Prakorn Sucheevakun and the Director of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau Pol.Col.Akarapol Punyopashtambha for official discussion.
The NCA's delegation gave priority to the DSI as a prominent law enforcement of Thailand, and thanked the DSI for its cooperation with the NCA to control crimes prioritized by both agencies, namely cybercrime, public cheating and fraud, money laundering, transnational organized crime gangs, and child sexual abuse.
The DSI expressed its intent to coordinate and cooperate fully, constantly with the NCA in the fields of case cooperation, information and intelligence exchanges, and training for improving investigation skills and expertise and advancing knowledge of its personnel to be capable of dealing with cyber and digital crimes that have no boundaries and the patterns of crime commission change rapidly.
The DSI and the NCA agreed to further discuss at officer level on these matters. Their Memorandum of Understanding for concrete cooperation between the DSI and the NCA is also under discussion.
