on Anti-Cross-Border Human Trafficking
On August 4 – 6, 2019, the DSI by the Bureau of Human Trafficking Crime hosted the 20th Bilateral Meeting between the Myanmar Police Force (MPF) and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) on Anti-Cross-Border Human Trafficking in Chiang Rai Province. The Bureau’s Director Pol.Lt.Col.Supat Thamthanarak led his officials to exchange views and information about anti-human trafficking operations and the way to cooperate in suppressing brokers of transnational human trafficking with Pol.Brig.Gen.Myint Htoo (Head of the Myamese delegation) and his team. The meeting followed up the results of working after the 19th meeting, exchanged case information and the way to coordinate with NGOs for prevention and suppression of the crimes. The meeting also brainstormed to set its cooperation framework of the prosecution against the aforesaid brokers.
