On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 12:30 PM, Police Major Yutthana Praedam, Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), along with DSI deputy directors-general and officials, welcomed Police Colonel Tawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, who presided over the Ministry of Justice's executive meeting no. 3/2025, accompanied by Mrs. Pongsawat Neelayothin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice; Mr. Kuheng Yawohasun, Secretary to the Minister of Justice; Mr. Yusin Jintapakorn, Vice Minister for Justice; Ms. Sarintorn Laungwattanawanich, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice; Mr. Taiyarith Temahivong, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice; Mrs. Jirapha Sinthunawa, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice; Mr. Komol Prompheng, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice; executives from the Ministry of Justice, representatives from all of the Justice Provincial Offices in Thailand, and other relevant officials. The meeting was held at the DSI Academy conference room in Nong Chok District, Bangkok, and was also conducted via video conference.
During the meeting, the Minister of Justice emphasized the integration of modern technology or AI to assist the public in legal matters, such as the development of a legal consultation application by the Rights and Liberties Protection Department. He also stressed the importance of transparency and accountability within the ministry and urged justice agencies to enhance communication to ensure public awareness of their work. He addressed public concerns regarding the Department of Corrections’ prisoner management, the DSI's special cases acceptance, and the need to position the ministry as the central authority for legal aid and justice services.
Additionally, the Minister of Justice highlighted the importance of expanding justice services nationwide through the Justice Provincial Offices, enhancing personnel capabilities across the ministry, and improving welfare benefits for justice officials and staff.
The meeting also covered budget disbursement reports from justice agencies, the ministry's overall budget expenditure for the 2025 fiscal year, progress on the Minister of Justice's directives, and updates on the development of the draft master plan for justice administration.
Following the meeting, the Minister of Justice, the Permanent Secretary, and other Ministry of Justice's executives attended the DSI Academy for a study visit. The visit included briefings on various special operations conducted by officers, including presentations on the CIS Dashboard system and the DSI Crimes Map, tactical training demonstrations at the Close Quarters Battle (CQB) training facility, firearms testing, and an overview of training courses integrating DSI’s expertise with other agencies.
