On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 2.00 p.m., Pol.Maj. Worranan Srilum (the Director of Special Case Management Bureau) as the spokesperson of the DSI, received the complaint letter about the damage from purchasing food vouchers for a salmon buffet of “Daruma Sushi”, a Japanese style restaurant, in advance but unable to use them due to the sudden closing down of every branches of the Restaurant, from Mr. Jitipat Boonsom (Director of the Consumer Protection Division for Advertising of the Office of the Consumer Protection Board-OCPB), who brought the injured persons to the DSI to submit the complaint letter and evidence to the Director-General, requesting the DSI to accept the case as its special case. The acts of the said restaurant have caused huge impact on many customers with the damage about 100 million baht.
The spokesperson of the DSI stated that the DSI received the complaint letter and evidence in its complaints submission system. The opinion after considering this matter will be proposed to the Director-General for promptly investigating the case and assigning its responsible bureau to investigate this case and coordinate with the Office of the Consumer Protection Board and the Central Investigation Bureau of the Royal Thai Police. If the case is within the scope of a special case prescribed in the Special Case Investigation Act B.E.2547 (2004), the DSI will then request the case transfer for its further inquiry.
