On Thursday 30 November 2023, Deputy Director General Police
Captain Wisanu Chimtrakool, together with Director of Foreign Affairs and
Transnational Crime Bureau and Director of Justice Enhancement Affairs Bureau,
welcomed a Vietnamese delegation led by Mr. Nham Ngoc Hien, Deputy Director
General of the Department of Civil Registration, Nationality and Authentication,
Ministry of Justice of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam as well as representatives
from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) at Meeting Room
1 on 1st floor at the DSI Headquarters. The goals of this visit were to
initiate bilateral inter-agency cooperation, to share each party’s information
and experience obtained from working in the field of statelessness, and to
learn about the tools and mechanisms employed by DSI to deal with the problem
and help stateless persons in Thailand.
