DSI visits Ayutthaya, searches illegally imported pork for further inspection
On Thursday, December 12, 2024 Police Major Yutthana Praedam, Director General of the Department of Special Investigation, assigned Police Major Natapol Ditsayatham, Expert on Consumer Protection and Environment Crime, as the head of special investigation team for special case no. 126/2566, Mr. Methiwat Khamsuea, Special Case Expert, Police Captain Channarong Tabsan, Deputy Director of Bureau of Regional Operations. Together with DSI officers, they executed a search warrant issued by the Criminal Court at the Wang Noi Distribution Center/Warehouse in Wang Noi District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province in order to search for further evidence. Due to the prior search in Chiang Mai Province, smugglers falsely declared imported pork as fish during customs procedures and later claimed it was locally produced pork when entering the processing and distribution chain. As a result, part of the processed pork was distributed to the Wang Noi Distribution Center.
During the search, critical documents were discovered, revealing that 1 ton of frozen pork had been shipped from the company in Chiang Mai province to the Wang Noi Distribution Center, with all proper transportation documentation. The documents and pork parts were seized as evidence for further investigation and as key evidence in the ongoing case.
