DSI arrested Managing Director of Speed Auto Import Co., Ltd. for tax evasion

         In line with the order of Acting DSI Director-General Police Major Suriya Singhakamol to expedite the effort to arrest special case alleged offender under arrest warrant, Director of Surveillance and Intelligence Center Mr. Withawat Sukantharos then assigned the Center’s operations team to jointly arrest the alleged offender in Special Case No. 57/2564. This is in response to the complaint filed by the Revenue Department requesting the DSI to bring criminal proceedings against the Speed Auto Import Co., Ltd. and Mr. Santi Mathawee, as the company’s managing director, for the offence of jointly committing tax evasion by giving false information, defrauding or deceiving to evade tax and jointly evading or attempting to evade the value added tax under the Revenue Code.
         The operations team of the Surveillance and Intelligence Center was informed by an intelligence source that Mr. Santi Mathawee, the alleged offender under the Criminal Court’s Arrest Warrant No. 2002/2564, dated 23 November 2021, rented and stayed at the house no. 60/66, Soi Borommaratchachonnani 41, Taling Chan Subdistrict, Taling Chan District, Bangkok. The DSI officers therefore verified the facts and kept the location under watch until the alleged offender appeared and the officers made the arrest, showed him their identities as well as the Criminal Court’s Arrest Warrant on March 1, 2023. The alleged offender confirmed his identity as the person wanted on the arrest warrant. The DSI officers notified him of his rights according to the law and detained him before sending him to the special case inquiry officials of Tax Crime Bureau for legal proceedings.
