DSI raided warehouse storing counterfeit and trademark infringing goods

In response to a tip-off regarding the Facebook account named “CF989 Shop” making continuous live broadcast selling counterfeit and trademark infringing goods, Pol.Maj. Suriya Singhakamol (Director-General), assigned Pol.Lt.Col. Phayao Thongsen (Deputy Director-General) to order Pol.Capt. Polson Terdsanguan (Director of Bureau of Intellectual Property Crime) and the officers of the Bureau of Intellectual Property Crime to investigate the case of sale of trademark infringing goods (handbags and watches) via live broadcasting by the aforementioned Facebook account. The investigation team carried out a field intelligence operation and found that the warehouse no. 601/19, Phraya Suren Road, (Soi Ram Intra 109) Bang Chan Subdistrict, Khlong Sam Wa District, Bangkok was used as storage and distribution point of trademark infringing goods.

On May 10, 2023, the officers of the Bureau of Intellectual Property Crime, equipped with a search warrant issued by the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court, raided the suspected warehouse and discovered that the warehouse was the location of the live broadcasting for selling such goods. The warehouse contained counterfeit handbags stored across the warehouse. The injured persons’ representatives from the trademarks Louis Vuitton and Chanel also observed the operation in this raid. The search found a large number of handbags and watches in various brands that were counterfeited and infringed on trademarks registered in the Kingdom by other persons, namely, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, etc., with the said representatives’ confirmation of trademark infringement. The search also discovered goods originating from foreign countries imported into the Kingdom without proper customs clearance. 7,000 pieces of exhibits (valued over 5 million baht) were seized and submitted to the special case inquiry officials for further proceedings against the persons involved.
