DSI conducted a raid on trademark infringing products
worth over 5 million baht

 

      On Thursday 13 July 2023, at 11.10 hrs., the Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) Police Major Suriya Singhakamol assigned the Bureau of Intellectual Property Crime, led by its Deputy Director Police Major Stapong Chuamahawan, along with Head of Intellectual Property Crime Division 1 Miss Jaruwan Krusata and officers of the Bureau, to execute a search warrant issued by the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court, and raid JK Products International Company Limited, located at a building no. 351, Moo. 3, Nong Kham Subdistrict, Sri Racha District, Chon Buri Province.

      The raid resulted in discovering various trademark infringing items such as handbags, wallets, shoes, belts, and bracelets bearing trademarks such as HERMES, CHANEL, LOUIS VUITTON, and others. Additionally, a significant quantity of materials and tools used in the production of these counterfeit goods were also identified. The wrongdoing by the aforementioned corporation involved engaging in activities resembling a premium-grade leather goods manufacturing facility. The products in question were high-priced items, with individual prices starting from 50,000 baht and above. Furthermore, the circumstances of the case involved counterfeiting, selling, offering for sale, and having for sale the goods bearing the trademarks of another person already registered in the kingdom, the damages of which exceeded 5 million baht.
