DSI Deputy Director-General co-chaired a ceremony to launch a Thai version of ASEAN book
“Gender Sensitive Guideline for Handling Women Victims of Trafficking in Persons”

          On Friday, January 18, 2019, at 9:00 a.m., Pol.Lt.Col.Prakorn Sucheevakun (a Deputy Director-General of the DSI) accompanied by Pol.Col.Akarapol Punyopashtambha (the Director of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau) and Pol.Lt.Col.Supat Thamthanarag (the Director of Human Trafficking Crime Bureau) attended a ceremony to launch a Thai version of an ASEAN book entitled “Gender Sensitive Guideline for Handling Women Victims of Trafficking in Persons” held at the Vayupak Convention Center, Centra by Centara Government Complex Hotel in Bangkok.

          The Deputy Director-General took the co-chair of the aforesaid ceremony and a workshop to publicize the book translated into Thai by the DSI.  The translation and publication of the book initiated by a Thai representative in ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) under the support of  UN Women, Asian Research Center for Migration of the Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University.

          In the workshop attended by representatives of related agencies, a representative of the DSI’s Human Trafficking Crime Bureau also lectured on experiences of providing victims of human trafficking with help and protection.
