DSI and CIFS cooperated to increase their capacity for serious crime control

 

          On July 3, 2018, at the Ministry of Justice's press room on the 2nd floor of the Government Complex, Building A, Pol.Col.Paisit Wongmuang (Director-General of the DSI) and Mr.Somn Promaros (Director of the Central Institute of Forensic Science-CIFS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Working Cooperation for Special Crime Control and Forensic Services witnessed by Mr.Tawatchai Thaikyo (Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice). The MOU is aimed at increasing both agencies' capacity for control of serious crimes (known as special crimes). The scope of cooperation between the DSI and the CIFS under the MOU include  exchanging their databases and supporting each other in terms of personnel, experts, instruments, equipment and laboratories for special case prevention, suppression, investigation and inquiry, and collaborating on research and innovation development for improving special case investigations and forensic services at the same time.
