DSI and RCMP of Canada agreed to strengthen their cooperation against economic crime

     On Thursday, April 18, 2019, 1:30 p.m., at the DSI, Mr. Steve Ethier, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s Regional Manager for Asia Pacific stationed at the Embassy of Canada in Bangkok, Thailand paid a courtesy call on the Director-General Pol.Col.Paisit Wongmuang, his Deputy Director-General Pol.Lt.Col.Prakorn Sucheevakun, and Pol.Col.Akarapol Punyopashtambha, the Director of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau.

           

     In their discussion, the DSI and the RCMP agreed to strengthen their cooperation in exchanging information and intelligence to fight against economic crime and money laundering. The RCMP will support the DSI to enhance its personnel capacities for dealing with serious and organized crime.

     Dismantling cybercrime, transnational crime, and serious and organized crime is the RCMP’s priority. In 2018, the RCMP won the Award for Outstanding Work Integration Agency from the DSI.
