DSI arrested Korean alleged offenders for luring Thai women into forced prostitution

Songsak Raksaksakul ordered the DSI’s Anti-Human Trafficking Center to seriously take actions against human-traffickers in the DSI’s special case no. 41/2560 (Thai women were lured into prostitution in the Republic of Korea).
With great cooperation from the Embassy of South Korea in Thailand, the Korean National Police Agency and the Supreme Prosecutors' Office of the Republic of Korea, the DSI’s Expert on Human Trafficking and Narcotics Crime Pol.Col. Akarapol Punyopashtambha, as the chief of the special case inquiry official team, and his team discovered that this case is an organized crime committed by 10 suspects (3 Thais and 7 Koreans).
The DSI’s investigations resulted in the issuance of warrants of arrest against 2 alleged offenders; Thai and South Korean nationals. On January 4, 2018, at 11.00 p.m., the DSI’s inquiry official team arrested a Korean man, the alleged offender no.5, at the Don Muang International Airport, and interrogated the alleged offender before taking him to the Criminal Court for the detention. At present, 3 alleged offenders (1 Thai and 2 Koreans) were arrested.
