On August 23, 2018, 2:15 p.m. at the DSI, Mr.Vishal Amin (the Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator-IPEC of the US President's Executive Office) together with Mr. Alex Khu (the Assistant Director of the Homeland Security Investigations-HSI and the Director of the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center-IPR Center) and a high level intellectual property delegation from the USA paid a courtesy visit on and discussed their work with Pol.Col.Paisit Wongmuang (the Director-General) and his deputies director general Pol.Col.Songsak Raksaksakul and Pol.Maj.Suriya Signhakamol jointly attended by Col.Pinit Tungsakul (the Director of the Bureau of Intellectual Property Crime) and Pol.Lt.Col.Paisith Sungkahapong (the Director of the Bureau of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime).
The US delegation was briefed on the DSI's intellectual property enforcement efforts, and also discussed the cooperation between the US agencies and the DSI. Both parties agreed on their cooperation by means of training focusing on advanced investigation techniques courses and electronic evidence collection courses supported by the US agencies including the temporary duty of the HSI's experts on intellectual property crime control who will be stationed at the DSI for transferring knowledge to and closely collaborating with the DSI's officials. The US delegation also mentioned with praise for the fruitful results of previous operations against intellectual property crimes in Thailand by officials from both sides.
