Director of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau welcomed AFP representatives

 

 

On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, 10:00 a.m., at the meeting room of the DSI's Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau, the Bureau Director Pol.Col. Akarapol Punyopashtambha and his officials welcomed a delegation of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) stationed in Bangkok headed by Federal Agent Stephen James Fry, Counselor (Police Liaison).

The parties discussed their cooperation in the fights against transnational crime that include money smuggling, money laundering, child sexual abuse and exploitation, and human trafficking.

The DSI and the AFP are members in the Thai-Australian Taskforce Storm Operations to Combat Narcotics and Transnational Crime. Other Thai agencies joined the Taskforce Storm comprising the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), the Royal Thai Police (RTP), and the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO).
