On May 24, 2022, at 2.00 p.m., the Bureau of Human Trafficking Crime of the DSI was requested by Mrs. Mai Somjit, a 58-year-old resident of Samut Sakorn Province, to rescue her nephew who was tricked to work for a call center gang in Sihanoukville, Cambodia and is being selling by the criminals. The Bureau coordinated with 3 foundations, namely, the Destiny Rescue, the Immanuel Foundation (IMF) and the International Justice Mission (IJM) to rescue 3 Thais who escaped from the detained place by hiding themselves in a bush area for 12 hours to avoid chasing by the criminal until they were rescued by a network of the local Catholic Church.

Later, on May 26, 2022, the officials of Bureau of Human Trafficking Crime of the DSI, Destiny Rescue, IMF and IJM coordinated for the safety return of all victims to Thailand. The victims are currently under the screening process of the multidisciplinary team.
