On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, Police Major Yutthana Praedam, Deputy Director-General and Acting Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), assigned Police Lieutenant Colonel Amorn Hongsritong, the Director of Natural Resources and Environment Crime Bureau, to instruct Mr. Pongtawat Oumsumang, Head of the Natural Resources and Environment Crime Division 1, to lead the special case inquiry team for special case no. 22/2567, involving encroachment and occupation of Ao Luek Cooperative Settlement’s land by a group of individuals. The case arose when the DSI received a complaint filed by  Ao Luek Cooperative Settlement in Krabi Province, alleging that a group of influential individuals and their associates had encroached upon and occupied the land within the settlement in Plai Phraya Subdistrict, Plai Phraya District, Krabi Province. They requested the DSI to take legal action against those involved in this illegal activity. The Director-General of the DSI then authorized the Natural Resources and Environment Crime Bureau to conduct an investigation under Section 21, paragraph one (1) of the Special Case Investigation Act, B.E. 2547 (2004), and its amendments, making it Special Case No. 22/2567.
