DSI seized over 50,000 items of counterfeit goods and products of foreign origins in the Nonthaburi Province area
published: 7/11/2566 17:19:10 updated: 11/1/2567 15:36:06 1381 views THOn Thursday, November 2, 2023, Police Major Suriya Singhakamol, Director General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), and Police Lieutenant Colonel Phayao Thongsen, Deputy Director of the DSI, ordered Police Lieutenant Colonel Yuthana Tangkoblap, Ms. Wanwisa Khamchamnan, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property Crime Bureau, Mr. Sakda Pipatthamakul, Director of the Intellectual Property Crime Division 3, along with officials from the Intellectual Property Crime Bureau and the Special Operations Bureau, to execute two search warrants issued by the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court in Special Case number 96/2566. They conducted searches at two locations suspected of storage and sale of counterfeit trademark goods and products of foreign origin in Bang Kraso sub-district, Mueang Nonthaburi district, and Sai Ma sub-district, Mueang Nonthaburi district, to verify if they had undergone customs procedures. Additionally, the representatives of the injured party were also present at the scene to observe the searches.
During the searches at both locations, they discovered around 50,000 items including clothing, pants, bags, and other goods infringing on the trademarks of GREYHOUND, UNDER ARMOUR, and MYKITA, as well as products of foreign origin suspected of evading customs. The DSI officials seized these items for investigation and handed them over to the special case inquiry officials of the Intellectual Property Crime Bureau for further investigation into violations of the Trademark Act, B.E. 2534 (1991), the Customs Act, B.E. 2560 (2017), and other related offenses.
