Warning! Scammers posing as DSI officials to get people to invest in land trading business in Prachuab Kiri Khan Province

          The Department of Special Investigation warns the public of the people impersonating DSI officials and tricking people to invest 3-600,000 baht in land trading business in Prachuab Kiri Khan Province for 3-5,000,000 baht profit. Some victims invested 600,000 baht and were threatened by the scammers.

          This case resulted from the complaint submitted to the news crew of the TV Programs named “People’s Station” and “Bus Stop for Complaint” to warn against the scammers claiming to be DSI directors, legal consultants, and political party owners in order to convince the people to invest in land trading. The scammers would claim that they had won the court dispute over high-value inherited land against their 5 executors who are the deceased’s children, and they did not have money for land transfer. The scammers would ask for 300,000 baht of the victims’ money to fund the transfer and promise the 3-5,000,000 baht in return when the land is sold. When the victims who transferred the money to the scammers asked for the money back, the scammers would refuse to pay and threatened the victims. This case was reported to the local police.

          The Department of Special Investigation warns the public to be cautious in the case of someone claiming to be authorities or personnel of the DSI. If someone make such claims, you can file a complaint or submit a tip via the DSI website ‘www.dsi.go.th’ or DSI Hotline 1202.
