DSI joined a press conference to announce success of suppression of child sexual abuse and child pornography possession crime
On November 22, 2018, at a press conference held by Thailand's Action Taskforce for Information Technology Crime Suppression (TACTICS), the DSI by Pol.Col.Paisith Sungkahapong (the Director of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau) informed that the Ministry of Justice and the DSI prioritized the concrete and continual actions against child sexual abuse and child pornography possession cases. The success of this work resulted from his assistance Pol.Capt.Kemachart Prakyhongmanee (the Bureau's Deputy Director) assigned by him conducted investigations by surfing the internet (under technical, information, training assistance from the FBI and the HSI of the US, the NCA of the UK, the Netherlands Korps Nationale Politie, and the INTERPOL) and analyzed information with the Royal Thai Police's TACTICS and could identify the places targeted by the DSI, 16 points in Bangkok and nearby areas, and other provinces.
On November 20, 2018 equipped by the Criminal Court's search warrants, the DSI officials joined force with the officials of the Royal Thai Police, the Department of Provincial Administration and the Central Institute of Foresic Science to search the said target places and could arrest the offenders with huge exhibits. The DSI will keep conducting investigation for more concretely suppressing the crime.
